About
137 x Jeff Keen (with an introduction from Stella Keen)
Part of CINECITY film festival
Tickets on sale soon
An exploration in free thought and improvisation, 137 is the combined sonic force of Adrian Utley (Portishead), Larry Stabbins, Jim Barr (Get the Blessing) & Sebastian Rochford (Polar Bear, Patti Smith).
137 will venture into the world of expanded cinema playing in symbiosis with the avant-garde experimental films of Jeff Keen, taken from the BFI GAZWRX collection.
As long-time fans of filmmaker, artist and poet Jeff Keen, Adrian and Larry sought to resurrect a project they initiated back in the day with Jeff , to perform live to his work.
137 and Jeff Keen seem to share the same manifesto for their creativity; visceral, organic, part improv, part pre-planned. This collaboration brings brutal noise interlaced with meditative rhythms and explosive analogue visuals. Ferocious yet fragile, multi-layered, multifaceted and genre defying.
