Michael Attenborough in conversation with Vice Chancellor Sasha Roseneil
University of Sussex alumnus the Honorable Michael Attenborough CBE, D. Litt, will share his experiences, career highlights and personal memories with Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sasha Roseneil.
Michael, son of former University of Sussex Chancellor, Lord Richard Attenborough, graduated in 1972 with a BA in English. His illustrious career in theatre spans many prominent roles, including Associate Director of the Young Vic, Artistic Director of the Almeida Theatre and Principal Associate Director and Executive Producer at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). His awards and achievements include the Award for Excellence from the International Theatre Institute and the CBE for services to the theatre. In 2016 he was appointed Director Emeritus of RADA.
Most recently, Michael has concentrated on teaching and training, in schools, universities and the National Film and Television School. He is an Honorary Professor of English at University of Sussex and a Patron of our students’ union drama society (SUDS).
This event promises to be a rich and engaging exploration of the Attenborough family's legacy and Michael Attenborough's contribution to the arts and to University of Sussex.
