About
Wilding (dir. David Allen)
& Isabella Tree in conversation with Professor Dave Goulson
Wilding tells the inspirational story of a young couple that bets on nature for the future of their failing, 400-year-old estate. Battling entrenched tradition, they entrust the recovery of their farm to a motley mix of animals both tame and wild.
Award-winning conservationist and bestselling author, Isabella Tree will be in conversation with Dave Goulson (Professor of Biology - Ecology and Evolution at University of Sussex). They will be discussing both the film and Tree’s experiences of running a pioneering rewilding project with husband Charlie Burrell.
Thanks to Tree and Burrell’s interventions, Knepp Estate in West Sussex has become a thriving environment for wildlife and biodiversity. The estate is now home to critically endangered nightingales, nesting peregrine falcons, 13 species of bat as well as an abundance of insects. Tree was awarded an honorary doctorate from University of Sussex in July 2024.
