Murmuration / (1) the way groups of starlings billow, dive, spin, dance collectively through the air; (2) the sound of something being said softly.
Have you ever considered how libraries move, breathe, and even perform?
The University of Sussex Library exists at the heart of its campus, yet the inhabitants are far more than human and text. This audio tour will take you on a journey to discover a space that is not solely limited to learning.
Guided by the drama finalists, you will embark on a sensory experience of this landmark campus building: one that delves deeper into its roots to where it's grown. Through this experience, you will be placed within a space combined with fluid choreographed movements and continuous soundscapes. We invite you to think with us about what is present and absent in this institution, appreciating and interacting with its history.
Tickets will be free, but you will need to book a designated time slot and will need to arrive 5 minutes beforehand. Headphones and MP3 players will be provided, or you are welcomed to bring your own and the soundtrack will be available to download onto your phones before the show. The library encourages wearing masks; please wear a mask when moving around the library building, unless you are exempt.
This is a heavily audio/visual based production, and the route around the library includes stairs. If you have any access requirements please email the stage manager, Lorna - email@example.com
You will be given a programme on arrival containing a map of the space and ushers will be there if help is needed.
