Unsettling Sound is a series of conversations between artists and scholars, hosted online in Autumn 2020 by Sussex Performance Events and Research (SPEAR) and Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA). Embarking from the uncertainties and dissonance produced by remote exchange, something we find ourselves needing to adjust to, the series takes the unsettled experiential dimensions of composing, talking, listening, hearing and sounding online as a chance to explore the various meanings, sensations and ideological potentialities of the sonic in the context of music, dance, visual art and performance.
Over three Fridays in November, conversations will convene across continents and time zones around three discrete but interconnecting exchanges among performance makers and researchers. All conversations will go live at 6pm GMT and are free to attend. We warmly invite you to join us.
Friday 6 November:
with Seke Chimutengwende, Alexandrina Hemsley and Xana
Friday 13 November:

With thanks to all the artists, as well as the Department of Drama, Theatre and Performance and the School of Media, Arts and Humanities at the University of Sussex.
